JOSEPH PROJECTS

During one of our meetings in the park we were talking about our program to help people get back on their feet and a married man named Joseph, who was with his wife, had an idea. "Why doesn't our group meeting in the park do something that would be like us giving back to the community?"

I asked "What a great idea, what would we do?" I was thinking to myself, "Wow, here is a man without a home or job, who has to support himself and a wife, thinking about what he can do for others, IMPRESSIVE!"

Joseph replied " Let's talk with community leaders and find out what we can do to help the community since we stay in the park as a way to say, thank you. We could clean up the park, other areas, paint, do chores, whatever."

That was the beginning of JOSEPH PROJECTS. As part of the Park Outreach program the groups meeting in the park will provide service back to the community by working on a monthly project to help others.

CURRICULUM

The Park Outreach curriculum covers 26 weeks of attendance leading to the attendees  completion certificate and employment consideration in their local communities.

The 26 week program faith based subject matter is broken into four categories:

           Spiritual - Faith and Leadership

           Physical - Health 

           Emotional - Mental Wellness 

           Practical Life Skills - Work and Employment Preparation

Our goal is to integrate our attendees from living in the park back into the mainstream of the community.
